Adverse

The words "adverse" and "averse" are often confused due to the fact that they are spelt very similarly. The word "adverse" is most commonly followed by the word "effect" and is used in order to describe something which works against you.
Averse
Exemple : ‘’I am not averse to a slice of cake once in a while.’’
The word "averse" is used to denote a strong feeling of opposition. It is also often preceded by the word "risk" in oder to denote someone who really dislikes taking risks.
