Although
Exemple : ‘’We had a good day although the restaurant wasn't very nice.’’
"Although" and "despite" are often confused with each other. They have the same purpose of showing a contrast but are used in different structures. "Although" should be followed by both a subject and a verb.
Despite
Exemple : ‘’I enjoyed the holiday despite the bad weather.’’
"Despite" should be followed by either a noun or a pronoun. The phrase "in spite of" is synonymous with "despite."
