i.e. or e.g.?
Your choice !
i.e.
Exemple : ‘’Yesterday I went to my least favourite place, i.e. the dentist.’’
Many people don't know the difference between "i.e." and "e.g.". "i.e." is an abbreviation of the latin "id est" which translates to "that is" and its usage can be remembered through thinking of it as "in other words."
e.g.
Exemple : ‘’I enjoy all film genres, e.g. comedies and thrillers.’’
"e.g." is an abbreviation of the Latin "exempli gratia" which translates to "for the sake of example" and therefore its usage can be remembered through thinking of it as "for example."
