Under or Beneath ?

Under
Exemple : ‘’I found my keys under the towel.’’
The prepositions "under" and "beneath" are commonly confused. "Under" is less formal and is generally used when something is literally covered by something else.
Beneath
Exemple : ‘’We huddled together beneath a blanket to keep warm.’’
"Beneath" is more formal and is used mainly in literature. In the two examples above both "under" and "beneath" would be correct to use depending upon the situation.
